Nghiên cứu phân tích tác động của chiến lược tái cấu trúc thông qua thu hẹp tài sản đến ROE của các doanh nghiệp phi tài chính niêm yết tại Việt Nam, đồng thời đánh giá vai trò điều tiết của bất định ngành. Sử dụng dữ liệu giai đoạn 2010–2024 và phương pháp SGMM, kết quả cho thấy thu hẹp tài sản có tác động tiêu cực đến ROE; cụ thể, mỗi đơn vị gia tăng làm ROE giảm từ 0,57 đến 0,90 đơn vị. Ngược lại, bất định ngành có tác động dương đến ROE, cho thấy bất định có thể gắn với cả rủi ro và cơ hội điều chỉnh chiến lược. Tuy nhiên, bất định ngành khuếch đại tác động tiêu cực của thu hẹp tài sản lên ROE, hàm ý rằng trong bối cảnh bất định cao, quyết định thu hẹp tài sản trở nên rủi ro hơn và có thể làm gia tăng chi phí cơ hội do phản ứng thị trường bị trì hoãn. Nghiên cứu cung cấp bằng chứng thực nghiệm mới về tác động bất lợi kéo dài của thu hẹp tài sản đối với hiệu quả hoạt động doanh nghiệp.
