Bài viết nghiên cứu tổng quan các nghiên cứu trước một cách có hệ thống về việc đo lường vốn trí tuệ. Qua phân tích tổng quan tài liệu có hệ thống và phân tích thư mục với 336 nghiên cứu, chúng tôi chỉ ra rằng các nghiên cứu trước tuy đã nghiên cứu nhiều và đưa ra các thang đo tương đối đa dạng nhưng các nghiên cứu trước vẫn còn một số thiếu sót nhất định. Các thang đo định tính còn tổng thể, chưa cụ thể hóa và chưa thể hiện rõ bản chất của vốn trí tuệ. Vai trò của vốn kỹ thuật và vốn đổi mới chưa được làm rõ, chưa được nghiên cứu nhiều. Nghiên cứu này bổ sung và xây dựng các thang đo vốn trí tuệ như vốn con người, vốn cấu trúc, vốn quan hệ, vốn đổi mới và vốn kỹ thuật số.
